Book Review: Chand Nagar ki Shehzadi by Sundus Jabeen

Book Review:

 Chand Nagar ki Shehzadi

by

Sundus Jabeen

Sundus Jabeen is the author about whom I did not have the slightest idea until one day I was requested to make an audio book of this novel by one of my subscriber on my youTube channel and I always love reading new authors, new stories, and new thoughts. So I finally made the audiobook for my subscriber.

And it turns out that the story was not  new, it was the same old story of women and abusing them psychologically (which is a very sensitive issue because most of the times, the women who are undergoing this type of psychological abuse and mental torture are not even aware of the fact that they are being exploited) but still the story did not disappoint me.

Let us move to the pros and cons of this novel:

Pros and Cons

Pros:

1. The storyline highlights the most sensitive issue of most of the women of Pakistan, ''psychological abuse and mental torture''. The worst part of this type of abuse is that most of the times, the women who are undergoing these situations are not even aware of the fact that they are being exploited and above all people consider psychological disorders as no big deal. For most of the people being physically and apparently healthy is the ultimate criteria of being happy and contented.

2. I consider this novel more as a social awareness novel than a social romantic genre and I am happy that the writers of Pakistan are writing more on these types of social awareness.

3. The language is simple and easy.

Cons:

1. Although I really appreciate the efforts of social awareness but somewhere deep in my heart I believe that nowadays we are always showing the dark side of the society everywhere, whether be it social media, drama and plays. And sometimes you just have enough of them. Of course problems do exist everywhere but the writers should bring a more wider panorama of life in there plots.

Thats all from my side, I hope to read more of the authors writings in the near future.

By the way here I have my youtube playlist for the audio book of Chand Nagar ki Shehzadi, if you are interested.
